Registration

Parents/Guardians must fully complete the FFNS’S registration forms and family contract for services. All families will have received a copy of the Parent Handbook and must have completed the required forms and have arranged for payment before their child can attend the Fern Flower - Nature School. When a parent has made a confirmation to secure a spot and start date and then decides to withdraw their child from a secured spot the families will be responsible for a one-month withdrawal fee.

Registration includes the Registration fee of $50.00 as a non-refundable deposit to secure your child's place on our waitlist or directly into the childcare program unless otherwise agreed in writing. If the registered child does not accept the first opportunity the child will either be removed from registration and/or placed at the bottom of the waitlist.

You can register your child for 1 to 5 days a week.

Drop-in sessions are available for regularly enrolled clients.

Expert Staff: Our educators aren't just trained in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and ECE Assistant (ECEA), they also hold Forest School Level 3 certifications. This ensures your child receives top-notch guidance and care in the great outdoors.
Quality Time: We're committed to spending every moment with your child during sessions, meaning no time is wasted on cleaning or prep work. We handle these tasks before or after sessions, maximizing your child's time in nature.
Class Size: Our group sizes are intentionally small, with a usual ratio of 1 educator to 4-6 kids, compared to the average daycare ratio of 8 to 10 kids to 1 educator.
Premium Curriculum & Equipment: Your child deserves the best, which is why we invest in high-quality curriculum materials and equipment designed to enhance their learning and exploration experiences.
Fair Wages: We believe in valuing our educators and paying them a fair wage for their dedication and expertise. Your tuition supports not only your child's education but also the livelihood of our amazing staff.
Tuition Prices: On average, Forest School sessions on Vancouver Island typically start at $34 for a 3-hour session without trained staff or/and in licensed settings. In contrast, our sessions at Fern Flower - Nature School are conducted in licensed settings, last for 4 hours and 15 minutes, and start at an average of $25 per session when enrolled full-time.
