About the Volunteer:

Hi there! I’m Grant, a musician, self-learned builder, and proud volunteer here at Fern Flower - Nature School. From hammering the first nails to strumming songs under the forest canopy, I’ve been part of this magical place since day one — and it’s been an absolute joy every step of the way.

I’m the go-to guy for meetings and construction, always ready to lend a hand (or a hammer!) wherever it’s needed. I’m also the proud father of a preemie son — we weathered every storm together through his childhood. Now, I’ve been promoted to grandpa of two amazing little ones, a boy and a girl, and let me tell you — I’ve had a lot of sweet practice with tiny humans!

Music is my heartbeat, and nothing makes me happier than sharing a song or a story with the kids. You’ll often find me popping by the school when I can, guitar in hand, a tune in my heart, and maybe even a few tools in my pocket — just in case.

Volunteering at Fern Flower isn’t just something I do — it’s a piece of who I am. It fills me up to be part of a place that celebrates nature, creativity, and community. There’s something truly special about helping build not just a school, but a village of love and learning.
